        March brings us to an end of our first quarter meat CSA.  We hope you have enjoyed eating local this winter.  Renewal applications and fees for April are due this month. Shares run in 3 and 6 month intervals. April, May and June or April, May, June, July , August and September. Please check the website for more information or call 413-668-6843.

Mark your calendars for April 25th. Austin Brothers Valley Farm will host it's First Annual Horse and Ox Plowing Day.
Held at 270 West St. Belchertown. Plowing to commence at 10:00 a.m.
Step back in time for a few minutes and watch as teamsters take the challenge at plowing the Spring earth. It will make you wonder how our fore fathers ever survived planting their crops.
Come listen to the teamster give their commands, gee, whoa, haw, step in, step out, back gee, back haw. Just what do those words all mean? Come and listen to the lingo.
Bring your lawn chairs, no seating is available.
Dress warm, be prepared for mud so wear your boots.
Other classes to be added to this event such as log scoot and cart class. Watch for more information.

The Greenfield Winterfare will be held February 6th at the Greenfield HIgh School. Open from 10:00-2:00.  Come and shop, get your greeens, root vegetables, apples, meats, cheeses and more.
For all you Greenfield families  looking for healthy meats, Austin Brothers Valley Farm will be starting a new  MEAT CSA in your area! All we need are 8 committed people to open a new MEAT CSA account with us. Stop by and visit with the Austin Family working at the winter fare. Talk with Michael about becoming a member.

    Interested in a meat CSA delivery to Northampton? Fill out the application on our website or send in the application that was in your bag at the Northampton Winter fare . As soon as we here from eight new customers we will commence delivery.
    For the winter delivery the date will be the second Saturday of the month from 11:00-12:30. Drop site to be announced.

    January 9 th at Smith Vocational School was the first Winter fare for an indoor farmers market sponsored by CISA. What an incredible turn out of people! When the doors opened it was non stop for all vendors until the two o'clock closing. Austin Farm would like to thank CISA and all of the customers who shopped with us during the day. We hope you had a great time and were able to enjoy the barter fare, workshops and meet some new farmers that you would like to shop with.

    Austin Brothers Valley Farm will be delivering their meat CSA's to Dover, Ma. starting January 11th, 2010
Dover will be the second delivery of the day arriving in Dover between 2:00-2:30. A more accurate time schedule will be established after our first delivery. The drop site will be at Powisset Farm, 39 Powisset Street, Dover, Ma.
